How do I configure Windows 95/ NT for IWLink connection?

To configure Windows 95/98 for a dial-up connection with IWLink visit Dial Up connection for Win 95/98.  If you are using Windows NT, please visit Dial Up connection for Win NT.

What is my local dial up number?

Visit our Local Numbers page to conduct a search of the dial-up numbers closest to you.   For your benefit, you may search using the area code.  You may also obtain a complete listing of all our dial-up numbers covering Southern California.

What are some common causes of disconnection?

  • Some common causes of disconnects are the following:
  • If call-waiting is not disabled, an incoming call will disconnect the connection.
  • Picking up an adjoin extension
  • Inactivity
  • Outdate operating system.  (Such as Window 3.1)

What are the IWLink DNS Addresses?

Go to Dial Up Instructions, to get detailed instructions on how to configure your system, out primary and secondary DNS  are listed there.

I cannot log in, Windows keeps asking me for my password.

Usernames and passwords are case sensitive. Make sure that the username and password are typed in exactly the same way as when you signed up for the service.  If this does not work , you will want to configure your dial-up connection from the beginning.

Re-configure dial-up following the instructions exactly given on wither Dial up for Windows 95/98 or Dia up for Windows NT.

I keep getting an error message "device is in use by another connection/ application".

A fax program or another communications program is using the modem port.  Find this other program and close it before you try to use your IWLink connection.
