Paid Website
What is your policy on sites that contain adult-oriented material?
We do not allow sites with adult-oriented because they
take up precious storage and bandwidth on our server. Additionally,
we prefer to stat with family-oriented content.
How long will it take for others to connect to my Domain Name?
If you are transferring your domain name to IWLink then
Networks Solutions must process the change on your behalf. This
process generally takes 1-3 days; however, with the demand for domain
name increasing exponentially, the processing time is also increasing.
When the request to transfer a domain comes into us, we
set up all of the DNS records for that account and assign an IP address
the same day. The time that it actually takes to resolve the domain
name to the IP address is dependent on external factors that we have no
control over.
How can I get information on Domain Names?
You can obtain information from our homepage in the
section of Domain Availability.
There you can search the database to find what names have already
been taken, and what names are still available. If you find a name
that is available and that you desire, call us and we will register the
domain name for you. IWLink will register the name for you at domain
registration prices.
The domain is yours for the period of registration
either one or two years. You will have to pay renewal fees for each
additional year after that.
What is the difference between static and server assigned IP addresses?
Each computer connected to the Internet (including your
own) must have its own IP address. IF a computer is being used as
a server (such as ours here at IWLink) then it must have a permanent
IP address so any and all other computers know how to connect to it.
These are static IP addresses. You do not need to have a static
IP address for your machine. Your IP address is assigned from a
list of addresses each time you log on. These are server-assigned
or dynamically-assigned IP addresses.
Why do I keep getting DNS errors?
It's is possible that you are typing an incorrect URL
in the address box of your browser. Make sure that this address
is typed exactly the way it is supposed to be. Make sure that the DNS
settings are correct for your dial-up connection. Go back and read
the detailed instructions on installing and configuring the dial up
and TCP/IP adapters to see what DNS entries you should be using.
Make sure that you connect to IWLink through the dial-up icon,
before you try to open up your Internet browser or e-mail program.
Do you support 128-bit encryption?
In order to use 128-bit encryption, your home computer
needs to have a static IP address and DNS entry on our server. Right
now, to the Internet access we provide, we only offer dynamically assigned
IP addresses. So unfortunately, as of right now, we cannot support
128-bit encryption. But please be sure to constantly check our technical
support pages and announcements pages to find out about new changes in
our service.
