Instalation and Download of Internet Explorer 5.0

IW Link has created and designed this pages exclusively for all of people interested in obtaining the latest version of Internet Explorer.  Please keep in mind that Internet Explorer 5.0 is only offered for PC.

Downloading the Program IE5 set up.exe

1. Click on the Download IE5 link which is located on the bottom of this page to start a download of Internet Explorer 5.0.

2. A window will appaer similiar to the one below.  Select save this file to disk and then press on the Ok button.

3. A window with the title "Save as"  will appear next.   From the selection "Save In" select desktop.   Note;  you can always save this file anywhere else you would preffer, just make sure you remember where you have save this file.  Here in IW Link we recommend that you place it on the desktop so that it would be easy to locate and to rember.

4. Once you have decided where to save this file; then you can click on save to start a download.  Make sure that you don't change the file name to the save as type values.

5. This file will take from 3 to 6 minutes to clomplete a successful download.   The speed of the download all depends on the speed of your connection.

Downlading Internet Explorer 5.0

1.  Double click on the IE5setup icon which is located on the desktop or anywhere you decided to save the file. This will upen up the intalation wizard.

2. Read and accept all of the terms and conditions.  Select I agree and press on Next to continue.

3. The instalation will start by opening this window with the title of "Windows Update".  Select Install Now recomended by IW Link which includes the latest browser of Internet Explorer 5.0, Outlook Express 5, (mail/newsgroups),  and a great deal of enhancements.  Then click on Next to continue.

4.  Later, you will se a secure window, which will asure you of the program that you will intall.  Select Always trust content from the selection given, then press on Yes.  The intalation will need to connect to the internet, if your computer is currently not connected to the internet; in some cases a "Dial up Connection" window will appear.  Verify your username and your password, make sure that this features are correct and then continue by pressing connect.

5. After you've achieved a succesful connection to the internet; a list of available downloads will appear on your screen.  Make sure that under region it says United States of America.  From the download list select FTP Download.   Then, press on the Next button to continue.

6.Unfortunately , a window will never appear which will show you exactly which stages of the download have been completed.  What will be shown is a window with the title; Detail box,  which will show you the amount of the dowmload that has been completed as well as a good estimation of the time remaining to complete the download.   Note; Through a connection using a V.90 modem; the period of time is approximately 2 hours.

7. After the download has been succesful, your modem will disconnect automatically from the internet and you must restart your computer again.

8. After the computer has been restarted, the intalation will configure your system so that you can start using Internet Explorer 5.0

Note:  If your connection was interrupted or if you interrupted the download proccess; a window will appear asking you if you wish to create an icon on your desktop which will allow you to continue the dowload proccess in a future time.   Here in IW Link we recommend you that at this point you select Yes; that way whenever you wish to continue the process of instalation, the process will continue from the point of which the process was interrupted and not from the beginning.
