Macintosh Configuration Macintosh Configuration Information Make sure that you have MacTCP and MacPPP installed in your system. If you are missing either one of these components, you will need to contact our office for information on where you can retrieve these files. MacTCP Configuration Under CONTROL PANELS, select MacTCP.
MacPPP Configuration Under CONTROL PANELS, select ConfigPPP
Set the PPP SERVER NAME to IWLink Set the PORT SPEED to 57,600 or whatever the highest baud rate your modem will support is. Set FLOW CONTROL to RTS and CTS. Set the PHONE NUMBER to your local dial-up number. Click on CONNECT SCRIPT...
Make sure there is nothing in the text boxes. Make sure none of the CR boxes are checked on the right hand side of the screen. Make sure all of the OUT and WAIT boxes down the left hand side of the screen are checked OUT. Click on 'OK'.
Click on LCP OPTIONS
Click on DEFAULT SETTINGS. Checkmark the WANT box under AUTHENTICATION (PAP). Click on 'OK'.
Click on the AUTHENTICATION... button in the bottom left of the window.
Enter your assigned PPP Login-ID in the AUTH. ID field. Enter your assigned PPP PASSWORD in the PASSWORD field. Click on 'OK'
Click on the IPCP OPTIONS... button in the bottom middle of the window.
Click on DEFAULT SETTINGS. Click on 'OK'
Click on DONE
Once you have completed the steps above, you must now restart your Mac.
To go online, open your CONTROL PANELS and select ConfigPPP,
then click on the OPEN button, and within a minute or two, you
should see an AUTHENTICATION SUCCEEDED message, click on the OK
button and your Surfin' the Information Superhighway! Just run your favorite
Net-Tools, and when your done for the day, bring open your CONTROL
PANELS, select ConfigPPP, and click on the HARD-CLOSE
button.
